If you want to help your local homeless shelter by collecting socks for us, don't worry, we have a procedure in place for that. Just let us know the on our contact us form, and we will be in touch with you.
Kids - join the
- membership is freeHere are some examples of ways you can make a difference;
- A booth outside a local Walmart store
- A car wash for a dozen socks - (the youth especially love this one).
- A sock ticket to a basketball or football game (Schools are especially responsive).
- Contact stores and ask them to become a 'sock drop off' location (this helps their business).
- Calling all Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts - collect socks.
- Bingo players - suggest a package of socks as the entry fee for a specific Bingo Night.
- Call local school districts and introduce our mission.
- Elementary Schools – During a specified “Sock Week” have the children design a great big sock box for collected socks.
- Children can make cards of hope” for homeless people, and Comfort Socks will be happy to pass them onto the homeless agencies we serve.
- Contact local newspapers and run a public service announcement about Comfort Socks.
- Spread the word by putting a link on your facebook page, send out a tweet, or encourage others to follow our blog.
- Tell local churches about our mission.
- Tell us how you would like to volunteer your time (a sock drive, a table outside of Walmart, a walk for socks, etc) and the location and dates you are thinking.
